In the final project, you’ll develop a visual navigation pipeline incorporating object detection with a Mars Rover Explorer.

Syllabus

Unit 1: Intro

In this unit, you will gain comprehensive insights into the core themes and objectives of the Intermediate Generative AI course through a hands-on demo set in a simulated Mars exploration scenario.

 

Unit 2: Imitation Learning

In this unit, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of imitation learning, with a focus on the Behavioral Cloning algorithm.

You will learn the following:

  • The Fundamentals of Imitation Learning
  • Data Collection for Imitation Learning
  • The Behavioral Cloning Algorithm
  • Evaluation of Imitation Learning in Unknown Environments
    Unit 3: Diffusion Models

    In this unit, you’ll master diffusion models, a class of generative models, by exploring their theoretical foundations and practical applications in depth.

    You will learn the following:

    • The Fundamentals of Diffusion Models
    • Data Preprocessing and Encoding for Diffusion Models
    • Adding Heuristics for Navigation
    • Evaluation of Diffusion Models in Unknown Environments

    Unit 4: Transformers

    In this unit, you’ll master transformers, a class of genAI models that are ruling the internet these days.

    You will learn the following:

    • The Fundamentals of Transformers
    • Key Elements of Transformers: Attention to Encoding
    • Different Types of Positional Encodings
    • Implementing Transformers for Object Detection on Mars

      Unit 5: Real-Time Decision Making

      In this unit, you’ll master how vision transformers, a class of Generative AI algorithms, can be used for real-time decision-making in dynamic path adjustment.

      You will learn the following:

      • The Fundamentals of Vision Transformers
      • Key Elements of Vision Transformers
      • Implementing Vision Transformers for real-time decision-making while navigating on Mars

      Unit 6: Capstone Project

      In the final project, you’ll develop a visual navigation pipeline incorporating object detection with a Mars Rover Explorer.
